About Us
Home-Start Wigtownshire is a local charity affiliated to Home-Start UK, the country’s leading family support organisation. Home-Start UK provides advice and has a robust Quality Assurance review process to ensure our scheme operates effectively.
The Wigtownshire scheme is responsible for its own management and funding. It is run by a board of trustees who are responsible for the overall management and development of the scheme.
Home-Start Wigtownshire is based in a large rural area in the most southerly part of Scotland, covering both the Rhins and Machars.
We recruit and train volunteers to support families with young children who are experiencing a difficult time in their lives.
We work alongside parents within their own home environment, encouraging and developing their skills and confidence to help build better lives for their children.
We also run family groups in various locations throughout Wigtownshire. The groups are held regularly and provide a safe and stress free environment for quality family time through play.
